He can only use it if its on a bootable Amiga DD floppy disk.
And it is not a freebie, it is copyright belonging to Amiga Inc - there
is plenty of code on it which is shared with AmigaOS 3.9 and 4.0.
But an owner of an A500 is entitled to have a copy of the disks that
came with it.
